Fighting corruption in all its forms is one of the 10 Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and one of the targets of Goal 16 of the UN 2030 Agenda. This Goal calls for creating a more sustainable and transparent global economy, namely through the significant reduction of illegal, financial and arms flows, the substantial reduction of corruption and bribery in all its forms and the development of effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels.
The PPI – Plataforma Portuguesa para a Integridade [Portuguese Platform for Integrity] follows the Anti-Corruption Campaign from Global Compact Network Portugal and the Portuguese Association for Business Ethics between September and December 2019. The initiative aims at the strategic development of projects and initiatives with effective impact on society.
The PPI is formed by the 73 signatories of the Anticorruption Campaign, organized in working groups with the objective of deepening the issues of Integrity, Transparency, Ethics and Governance.
The PPI takes into account the benchmarks below in promoting integrity and defining strategy:
