When the United Nations announced that this would be the "Decade of Action", calling for joint action to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, it did so with the certainty that we are at a critical juncture that requires a strategic plan on a global scale. The SDG Ambition programme is born from this call to action, having been launched in January 2020 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, with the participation of the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres. Companies from around the world were challenged to identify risk areas, set targets, develop strategies and discover new business opportunities to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals with the aim of reaching 1000 companies in 40 countries by 2022. A goal about to be achieved.
Designed by the United Nations Global Compact with the support of Accenture, SAP and 3M, SDG Ambition runs for six months through performance reviews, capacity building workshops and expert consultancy.
